Rhea “Skip” Taylor is a lifelong Fayette County native who cares about the growth and prosperity of Fayette County citizens.
Fayette County needs experience and stability to continue growing for our next generation of citizens.

Skip is a lifelong Fayette County citizen raised on his family’s farm. He attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and earned a Bachelors of Science is Agriculture while managing the farm throughout college. After graduation he continued farming full time and became involved with community and civic activities related to church and agriculture. As he became more involved in the community, he decided to serve the county by running for Fayette County Commission. He served 8 years and then ran for County Mayor in 2002. Since then he has brought his business skills to work on behalf of Fayette County with budgets requiring no new property taxes. At the same time, smart budgeting has provided funding for the Fayette County Justice Complex, building additions to Oakland Elementary, and the new Buckley Carpenter Elementary School in Somerville. During the last four years, Fayette County emergency services were improved with better training and equipment that are used to respond to life threatening situations. Skip has worked, and continues to work, to improve Fayette County’s standard of living by recruiting businesses to the area, while striving to keep the “home town” feel we have all come to love.
Fayette County needs the continued leadership of Skip Taylor to efficiently run the county’s government while working to improve the quality of life of its citizens.
